Making Banners
- How
do I make a banner?
Please see our online resources here
for some suggestions.
- What
size does my banner have to be?
468 x 60 pixels
- What
file size does my banner have to be?
13,000 bytes which is about 12 kilobytes (KB) or less.
- Will
you make a banner for me?
No. Unfortunately we do not have the time our resources for that at this time.
Placing
the Banner Code
- Can
I use EduBanners.com as the default campaign with BURST, ValueClick, TribalFusion, or
other ad networks?
Yes! However, in
order for code to work properly (credits, click-throughs, etc.), please
follow our specific directions on how to configure your code here.
- Can
I display the banners on more than one page and get extra impression
credits?
Yes. You are encouraged to display the ad code on every page that it
is appropriate for. However, there cannot be multiple instances of an
ad on a single page.
- My
banner HTML code isn't working properly. What can I do?
There could be a couple of reasons, but the safest way to edit your
HTML pages is in a text editor (see next question). The code may not
work properly if the lines of code wrap around to more than one line.
In
particular, the line that starts with document.write( cannot
be on more than one line. The one line should start with document.write(
and end with height="20"></a>'); If
not, it may cause problems. If you need additional help with this, please
let us know.
- What
text editor should I use?
You could try Programmer's File Editor which can be downloaded at: http://www.winsite.com/info/pc/win95/misc/pfe101i.zip
- Your
banner won't fit on my page properly because of the small banner on
the bottom. What can I do?
Email us and explain, and we will try to work something out.
- When
I try to click on the banner I get a message that says "No Cookies."
What does this mean?
It means that the web browser that you are using doesn't have cookies
enabled. There is no work around other than enabling cookies.
Mailing List and
Counter
- How
do I set up my free mailing list and counter?
It's simple! When you get the HTML code for your banner, you will
also get the HTML code for your counter and for the box to join your
mailing list. All you have to do is copy and paste it into your website!
Please post the code for your banner before using the counter and/or
mailing list.
- Will
the counter work with a large number of daily impressions?
Yes!
- Will
the mailing list handle a large number of users?
Yes, it has been specially designed to grow with your site. Whether
you have 30 users or 30,000 users, it can handle it!
Miscellaneous
- Are
there any restrictions?
Yes, there can only be one EduBanners banner per page. The EduBanners
banner has to be viewable without the user having to scroll (top portion
of the page). There may be other banners on the page, but the EduBanners
banner cannot be sandwiched between other banners. The ad code has to
be used as is, without any modifications that EduBanners hasn't approved
of. Last, you must post your banner before using the counter
or mailing list code. Your success as well as ours is dependent upon
these simple guidelines. Think of it as advertising for your own site,
and place the banner in a location that would satisfy yourself. This
should help to build a mutually beneficial network and keep all our
webmasters happy.
- What
if my site fits under more than one category?
Just choose the category that the majority of your users come for.
- Can
my banners be displayed on more than one category?
Yes, just select any and all categories you want your banners to
be displayed on. We suggest selecting all categories for the greatest
amount of exposure.
- How
can I be sure ads will load quickly?
EduBanners.com has its own dedicated server for a very large number
of fast serving ads, so your banners will always load quickly!
- Will
there ever be noneducational banners displayed?
There may be if we have a noneducational advertiser that would like
to advertise to an educational audience. We will screen these banners
beforehand to make sure they are appropriate for an educational site's
content first.
- How
do I check my stats?
It's easy! Just login to the member's center
to view up to the minute stats and to access other account features!
- Where
can I find tools to improve my website?
Check out our selection of online resources here.
- What
type of sites are accepted into the exchange?
Please
see our list of guidelines here.
